The Baha’is were the coxswains of The Pahlavi government

One of the most important traits of the Pahlavi regime especially the second one is the influence of the Baha’is on the structure of the government and occupying the most sensitive posts by them. The Baha’ism danger for the religion of Islam and Shiism was more than other religions. There hazards were so earnest that the religious forces and preachers and spiritual guides spent a lot of time confronting the cult. This article introduces several Baha’is and their positions in Pahlavi government in order for this fact to be figured out that a government which claimed for being Shiite and a king who claimed so, took over its government pillars to the greatest enemies of Shiite.

     Undoubtedly one of the most prominent Baha’i characters in the Pahlavi government is Amir Abbas Hoveyda.

   

A person who took over the highest executive position in the country for 13 years. He didn’t confess to be Baha’i; although there are a large number of documents indicating he has been a Baha’i. He pretended to be a Shiite Muslim. However, this order had been issued by the Baha’ism community. Because electing Hoveyad as a person who was famous for being a Baha’i would end in people’s oppositions. Consequently, Hoveyda had to do his mission pretending to be Muslim.

     One of the other influential and important Jewish people was Abdul Karim Ayadi.

 

He was one of the prominent Iranian Baha’is and the special king’s physician. So, he was so intimate with the king. It is obvious that such person could influence on the king so much. According to king’s relatives, he had possessed 80 jobs and was filthy rich. He was employing Baha’is in various positions in governmental offices using his influence. The other Ayadi’s activity was smuggling opium. Hussein Fardous has said about his roles: “The role played by Ayadi for the west to the end of Pahlavi government hadn’t been played by all western agents.”

     One of the other influential Baha’i agent in the structure of the Pahlavi government was Farrokhrou Parsa.

 

She performed sensitive measures to preach the Baha’is beliefs and to strike the religion of Islam. Parsa had educated medicine and was employed in government formally. She was the chairman of the Iranian women population cooperation organization and she was also the manager of the national university secretariat and the representative of the national council parliament in the 21st period. In 1334, she was appointed as the parliament assistant of the government. In 1347, she was elected as the minister of education ministration when Hoveyda was the prime minister in this position, she could execute various measures in favor of Baha’ism to strike the Islamic beliefs. She insisted preaching corruption and laxity when she was the minister of education. Cooperating with SAVAK, she could put the veiled girls under pressure to unveil. She also changed the educational texts at schools to preach Baha’ism and to attempt against Islam.

     The other famous Baha’i was Habibullah Sabet known as Pasal.

 

He supported Baha’is by trying in the field of economy and commerce. He tried to play an influential role using his wealth. Pasal started his job as a bike repairer and became well-known entering into business field and became one of the richest men in Iran. He established ZamZam and Parsi companies in favor of Baha’is and the Zionistic government. Habibullah Sabet was the member of the National Spiritual Assembly of the Iranian Baha’is and one of the investors related to the International Zionism. He used his wealth to enter into policy; for instance, he involved in senate and the national council parliament elections to try to make the Baha’i candidates to enter into the parliament.

     One of the other famous Baha’i who was influential in the system of the government of the Pahlavi regime was Parviz Sabeti.

 

He was born in a Baha’i family. He tried hard in the intelligent service of SAVAK. He was first a teacher. When he got his B.A. degree in judicial sciences he entered into SAVAK. After a while he became the chairman of the third department of SAVAK. Then, he became one of the most influential political and security official of the country. He strongly believed in repressing the revolutionists.

     Mansour Rouhani was one of Baha’i people who possessed a high-ranking position in the government of Pahlavi regime. He was pretended to be Muslim. He was the chairman of one of the Baha’i assemblies. Rouhani was appointed as the manager of water of Tehran by Muhammad Reza Shah in 1337. On Isfand, 1342, he became the minister of electricity and water.

     Asadullah Saniee: was a Baha’i and tried to preach Baha’ism in the army. In 1307, he graduated from officer collage. He entered into the court as the prince adjutant. He progressed to the degree of generalship and took on many sensitive and important posts. He was one of the influential people in Pahlavi government. His position was the same as Ayadi. Hussein Fardoust wrote about his role and position in the Pahlavi regime: “Basically, Reza Khan had good social contacts with Baha’is to such an extent that he appointed Asadullah Saniee who was a first grade Baha’i as the special adjutant of Muhammad Reza.”

 

     Another Baha’i who entered into the army was Parviz Khosrawani. He was Ataullah Khosrawani’s brother and Naeemi’s groom. Khosrawani was busy stealing after Mordad 28, 1332when he was the chairman of Taj club. Due to his attachment with the court, he became the commander of gendarmerie of Tehran from 1340 to 1343. In 1343, he became the assistant of the country gendarmerie. In Hoveyda cabinet, he became the prime minister assistant and also the head of physical education organization.
