The interaction between the Baha’ism cult and the Colonial processes in Iran has a relative long history.

When and how was the Baha’ism thought formed in Iran?

In the name of God, the Compassionate, the Merciful. Baha’ism issue isn’t an ideological or a thought and religion one; but it is the Colonial movement. In order to recognize the origin, movement and the report card of Baha’ism in the region; particularly in Iran, we should know about Colonialism and its movement. The British Colonialism planned and studied in order to penetrate, dominate and being present in the world especially the Muslim world and Iran.

When did the first movements of the British Colonialism start in Iran?

Late Safavi period of time, the British moved towards Iran as tourists, Iran travelers and Iran researchers. Although during the Safavi period of time, some of these movements were blocked; but Jean Chardin who was working for the English has published a 14-volume travel book during his presence in Iran.

When did the first measures of the Colonial movement start for making cults?

They started their first measures during Fath Ali Shah period of time. They ran Ismeelieh and Aghakhanieh movements and they also ran Sheikism one.

Concerning Sheikism movement, some believe that Sheikh Ahmad Ehsaee wasn’t the agent of Colonialism; but as a deflective movement, Sheikism made the first division in Iran via Colonialism. Sheikh Ahmad Ehsaee was an innovator and his claims were baseless including: I am directly narrating tradition from the holy Imams (peace be upon them). After his death, Seyyed Kazem Rahti whose identity is vague continued Sheikh Ahmad thoughts extensively in his classes in Karbala.

How and when was Babism preached in Iran?

Ali Muhammad Bab was born in Iran in 1235 A.H. He studied in brief in Shiraz city when he was a teenager. Then, he went to his paternal uncle’s commercial firm in Boushehr city where the English people were active, there. Bab has lived for 14-15 years in Boushehr city. The Babis themselves are claiming for the Time (May God hasten his reappearance) when he returned from Boushehr to Shiraz.

How much England was in charge of making, forming and expanding Baha’ism?

One of the British movements is the hidden one which is movement making. The report card of the groups is important, too. For instance, when Hussein Ali Baha planned to assassinate Neseruddin Shah and the Babis were exiled to Baqdad, Mirza Melkom Khan Armani visited them in Redhvan garden in Baqdad. Also, Maneckji Limji Hataria who had come to Iran a Zoroasterian person residing in India had come to Iran and had had extensive relationships with king Naseruddin and various political figures. He visited Hussein Ali Baha and Yahya Sobhi Azal. After visiting with Maneckji and Mirza Melkom Khan, Baha was lost for two years. The Baha’is themselves say he was worshipping in Soleimanieh mountains. After that event, the two brothers claimed for being the continuations of Bab. Consequently, Hussein Ali Baha was sent to Palestine or Akka and Yahya Sobhi Azal was exiled to Cyprus where was under the influence of the British government.

During this period of time, Edward Granville Browne who was one of the professional spies of England has spoken with Hussein Ali Baha in Akka for 17 days and with Yahya Sobhi Azal in Cyprus for 15 days; but he hasn’t written about the topics at all. Then, Browne wrote a book in this regard called Noqtatul Kaff and asked Muhammad Qazvini to write a detailed introduction for it.

Why was Akka selected as the center for the Baha’is activities?

First, Akka was a region in Nothern Palestine where was regarded by the Zionists long before. Second, Akka was a base for the British government.

When was the first Baha’ism organization established in Iran?

After Hussein Ali Baha’s death in 1309 A.H. and Abbas Effendi succession in 1317 A.H., the first Baha’ism organization was established in Iran.
