Seal of Prophets in Baha’i Literature
Â
Among the Muslims whether Shi’a or not, it is obviously clear that Muhammad (PBUH) is the latest Messenger of god and no prophet will come after him, a belief well known as the seal of Prophets. Now let’s have a look at the documents of Baha’i to find out the truth about it.
According to the claims issued by Baha’u\'llah the two clergy’s of Sheykhieh known as Sheikh Ahmad Ahsai and Seyyed Kazem Rashti are of the greatest importance among Baha’is. We see that these two confess that the Muhammad (PBUH) is the end of the Devine prophecy:
- We believe that there is no prophet after Muhammad(PBUH)
- The position of Muhammad is above the all prophets and because of this he is the latest messenger of God
- This is my testament: “I believe that Muhammad is the last of the God’s messenger and his religion will last until the Day of Judgment
- It is impossible for anyone as a messenger to come after Muhammad
Now let’s have a look at the references by Babi and Baha’i about it:
- Ali-Muhammad Shirazi in a tablet called Resale alef writes: “I do not believe in anything but in all things that is revealed to Muhammad the end of all prophetsâ€
- Baha’ullah says: The seal of prophecy is clear about Muhammad
- Baha’ullah says: The best wishes upon whom the prophecy got ended
Of course there are many other confessions about this in other Baha’i references but this is due to whom searching the truth.
Against this confession Ishragh Khavari has said that it is clear that Muhammad is the seal of prophecy but Baha’ul’lah is upper than that and he is in fact the Manifestation of God. A rank higher than any other prophet!
Or he is the Manifestation of God. Here we propose a question: Does Baha’ullah have anything to do with divine inspiration? If the response is yes; then what do we have to do with the seal of prophecy, who according to the above mentioned claim is Muhammad. And if the response is negative then what do we have to do with the claim of Abdulbaha who has brought the name of Baha’ul’lah as the sixth Prophet of Divine??
We let the readers to solve the dilemma themselves.
Still there is another problem here and that is: Baha’u’llah has written in his book Badee pg: 110 that the highest position of humankind is to be Prophet. Then he is not prophet as he had claimed before and maybe he is not humankind!
