Bahaullah and Other Prophets

\"Baháulláh-and-Other-Prophets\"

Bahá’u’lláh speaks of multiple God. In his writings we must look closely at the way which he introduces God and compare it with the God spoken by other prophets. Here we want to look carefully at the structure of his writings and other prophets to understand which one is true, because any beautiful vessel which leaks is worthless, however beautiful and attractive it might appear; or someone who wants to tell a lie, hides it in many truths to pass undetected and be accepted along with the truths.

A nasty tasting pill must be eaten to look nice and to attract the patient to take it, if not the misleading smiles and friendship must proceed the fatal blow, these are all the rules of the nature which we have witnessed in our everyday lives, so we must realize that the truth of any matter or it’s falsity cannot be determined except by deep sympathetic or critical investigation, not by emotional reaction or a glance at the fact. Here from the quoted passages of the Holy Quran we will obtain some idea of the way which prophets have introduced God and have invited mankind to his worship, they have all spoken with the same voice, and are united in their mission. Quran, Hud chapter, verse 25-26-50 says:

And We had certainly sent Noah to his people, [saying], “Indeed, I am to you a clear warner

(Hud: 25)

That you not worship except Allah. Indeed, I fear for you the punishment of a painful day.”

(Hud: 26)

And to ‘Aad [We sent] their brother Hud. He said, “O my people, worship Allah; you have no deity other than Him. You are not but inventors [of falsehood].

(Hud: 50)

Other prophets deliver their warning, for instance in surah Al-Ma’ida verses 72-73 the Holy Quran says:

They have certainly disbelieved who say, “Allah is the Messiah, the son of Mary” while the Messiah has said, “O Children of Israel, worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord.” Indeed, he who associates others with Allah – Allah has forbidden him Paradise, and his refuge is the Fire. And there are not for the wrongdoers any helpers.

(Al-Ma’ida: 72)

They have certainly disbelieved who say, “Allah is the third of three.” And there is no god except one God. And if they do not desist from what they are saying, there will surely afflict the disbelievers among them a painful punishment.

(Al-Ma’ida: 73)

Also Quran says ‘the message of Muhammad is no different to those we have seen’. Surah Yunus verse 104 says:

Say, [O Muhammad], “O people, if you are in doubt as to my religion – then I do not worship those which you worship besides Allah; but I worship Allah, who causes your death. And I have been commanded to be of the believers

(Yunus: 104)

Vision perceives Him not, but He perceives [all] vision

(Al-An’am: 103)

Also the Holy Quran says ‘the idols you invoke besides God are creatures like you’. In surah Al-Anbiya verse 29:

And whoever of them should say, “Indeed, I am a god besides Him”- that one We would recompense with Hell. Thus do We recompense the wrongdoers.

(Al-Anbiya: 29)

And We sent not before you any messenger except that We revealed to him that, “There is no deity except Me, so worship Me.”

(Al-Anbiya: 25)

Thus we have taken a few examples and have briefly seen what the prophets have preached. They have without exception invited mankind to the worship of God and told us to be his servants.

Bahá’u’lláh claims to be one of these messengers and manifestation, he sees himself and the Báb as links in this chain and two stars of this heaven. If Bahá’u’lláh is one of them he should not say anything contrary to the spirit of the above for not only he claims himself to be a link of that chain but argues his revelation to be a continuation of the previous religions thus in essence he should not disagree with what God has revealed through his prophets.

Bahá’u’lláh has forbidden the interpretation of his writings thus we must always take its literal meaning which is intended:

He who interprets my words, and takes them outside its literal meaning, he is out of God’s blessing.1

Báb writes in the second volume of Bayán:

God cannot be adored and worshipped.

Bahá’u’lláh follows the example of Báb in many of his writings such as Mubeen book where he says:

Say thou recognizing (God) is recognizing myself.2

My outer being invites my inner being and my inner being invites my outer being. There is no one in the world except me.3

When in Akka prison, Bahá’u’lláh claimed:

There is no God except me, the imprisoned.4

The way is closed and beseeching God has been rejected.5

All prophets and the Quran have said: Beseeching God, He (God) hears and answers; but Bahá’u’lláh says your beseeching do not reach to Allah thus beseech me.

With regard to the above Quranic verses, we realize that all prophets of God have announced they are servant of God, and invited people to him to worship Allah and all prophets speeches are the same.

But Bahá’u’lláh claims he himself is god and god has appearance in his manifestation. He also says about prophet hood in his book Badi page 119:

Think a little, that the highest position of humanity is the position of prophethood, and most people suppose that reaching this position is impossible.

Therefore, in Bahá’u’lláh’s own words, the highest position of humanity is the position of prophethood, but there is a significant question: when the highest position of humanity is prophethood, how has Bahá’u’lláh claimed divinity?

Due to contradictory speeches by Bahá’u’lláh, we cannot recognize him as a prophet of god, because no prophet has claimed divinity.
