A letter from a friend
I heard the rustle of tree leaves obviously. I looked at the street. A taxi or a pedestrian was passing the street, up and down. The distance from the mosque to the house was a good opportunity for my grandfather to narrate his memories. I said to my grandfather: (Grandfather! How did you turn to Islam?) He lowered his cap and said after thinking for a while: (Tonight I’ll show you a letter which I have kept for several years. I think you’ll find the answer for your question by reading it. I nodded my head confirming him…
Grandfather coughed and took his key out of his pocked with difficulty and said: (Read it loudly. I have read such letter for years!)
He put his hand under his chin. I started reading:
My old friend, his Excellency Mr. Rahimi!
Don’t be surprised that I write a letter for you after years. During this period of time, I have asked your health via your friends. And event has recently happened for me and revolutionized my life. I want to narrate the adventure for you in order to be useful for you. If you remember, you invited me and some of the youth from relatives and spoke about the twelve teach teachings of Baha’ism creed in which you believed. I had nearly been attracted by your speech. I decided to inquire…
Unfortunately, it is impossible for me to write all the adventure and my studies. However, if I found an opportunity, I would write for you in future.
On of the teachings that you spoke about it was the unity of humanity. You were saying: (The Excellency Bahaullah has said in the book “the collection of tablets†page 265: Tell, O’freiends, the unity became erected. Don’t look at each other like strangers. All of you belong to the same tree and branch.) you claimed that Baha’ism defines the equality contract and encourages all human beings to friendship and respect.
I deem it necessary to write some matters regarding this teaching briefly.
In the book “Qarn BAdi’a†vol. 2, p. 305, the Excellency Bahaullah has entitled. Sheikh Mohammad Baqer Isfahani one of the great scholars in Qajar time as the wolf and has called Mir Mohammad Hussein, the chief mullah for Friday prayers as hypocrite.
According to you, do insulting to the great men in a religion assume as demolishing this teaching?! Certainly, it is so …
Or in another book called Asar-al-Athar [the secrets of the works] written by Fazel Mazandarani, vol. 5, p. 346, the Excellency Bahaullah has called his brother, Sobhi Azal, as Toghoot, devil and fly. Additionally, this not is worthy to be thought: A person who is a teacher of a teaching demolishes those commandments!!!
Anyway, thank you for reading all the letter patiently.
I am enthusiastically waiting for your answer.
Respectfully your: Mir Ahmad Soleymani, Monday 5/12/1353.
After several minutes, I put the paper on the desk and said: “I would be grateful if you let me take the rest of the letter to my house.)
He smiled.
As a sign of appreciation, I nodded my head. I closed the door and thought about the letter text all the night.
