Seyyed Mohammad Hussein Husseini Tehrani’s view concerning Sheik Ahmad Ehsaee
Bahaismiran:
The great scholar Seyyed Mohammad Hussein Husseini Tehrani one of the great contemporary philosophers and learned people. He learned philosophy and mysticism by the great scholar Tabatabaee in Qom and by Sheikh Abbas Qouchani (the successor of Seyyed Ali Qazi Tabatabaee), Seyyed Hashem Haddad (one of the pupils of Mr. Qazi Tabatabaee), Seyyed Jamaluddin Qolpaygani and Sheikh Mohammad Javad Ansari.
In the book “The recognition of Imam†concerned with Sheikh Ahmad Ehsaee’s familiarity with Islamic philosophy and wisdom, he writes:
“Sheikh Ahmad Ehsaee hadn’t learned philosophy and wasn’t familiar with the intellectual sciences. He wanted to be aware of the higher wisdom of the mysticism of Islam. He studied autonomously. Without being aware of wisdom and mysticism, he called himself clergyman in these fields and established some beliefs. He even insulted the great Islamic sages such as Mohyeddin Arabi and Mulla Mohsen Feiz Kashani in his books. He called Mohyeddin as atheist and called his statements as nonsensical ones and assumed Feiz Kashani as a deviant person.†However, he called himself as obedient of the Household of the prophet (P.H.).(Imam Shenasi 5, pp. 183-184)
Mirza Mohammad Tonekaboni writes regarding Sheikh Ahmad Ehsaee’s rank among sages: “Sheikh Ahmad was excommunicated because he mixed and gathered the rules of religion and wisdom for this impossible to verify the intellectual rules and religious ones. Thus Sheikh Ahmad became the head of his age. However, the sages didn’t believe in him. Mulla Ali Nouri was asked about the virtue of Sheikh. Then he said: “He is a layman.â€(Qasasul Ulama, p 49.)
