Hojjatiyeh  Association  is  a  means  to balance  Baha’ism  by  the  Pahlavi  Regime
Bahaismiran:
One of the most important notes in criticizing Hojjatiyeh association performance was the issue of being ignored the main campaign and doing the secondary issues. The vain campaigns which didn’t hurt the king and his companions. Before the Islamic Revolution, the campaigns against Baha’ism and several secondary sources of the western civilization were done to deviant people from the main devil and the chief illness of the Iranian society. For instance, the campaign against “Pepsi Cola†was of these activities of Hojjatiyeh association. Pepsi beverage had been banned by the then scholars. The association had mobilized its members to ban the shopkeepers not to sell the drink by encouragement and threat method; because the owner of Pepsi Cola Company was a Baha’i person called “Sabet Pasalâ€. However, the had left Sabet Pasal and other Baha’i heads and its main supporter that is Shah and were busy with the secondary and unimportant issues.[1]
Martyr Hashemi Najad criticizes Hojjatiyeh association method: “Regime didn’t say to fight against Baha’ism directly and seriously. If these sirs say they had fight against Baha’ism, they are ungainly. Baha’ism possessed three dimensions: economic, political and intellectual ones. Hojjatiyeh association couldn’t fight regarding the economical and political dimension since regime prevented them firmly… They couldn’t speak against the companies possessed by Baha’ism economically. At all. This was regime’s red line. So, they didn’t battle against Baha’ism economically. The political dimension was the same as the economic one. So, how did they battle? Just in intellectual dimension.[2] Even Hojjatiyeh association criticized the late Imam Khomeyni (P.H.) regarding Khordad 15 movement.[3]
Consequently, the Pahlavi regime’s contact with Hojjatiyeh association was lenitive and peaceful. It let the association both be active because its activities were in the direction of its benefits and limit it. Shah also let Hojjatiyeh association to be active to suppress Baha’is, whenever he wanted.[4] One the other words, Hojjatiyeh and Baha’ism were tow means to control each other managed by SAVAK.
