Taking this discussion further, here in this article we now take up the issue of “Finality of Prophethood” as discussed in the New Testament. This will reaffirm the trickery of the Baha’is. Perhaps some Baha’is will see the light and revert back to divine guidance.
The Predictions in the New Testament(Bible):
1. Book of John 14: 15-17
“If you love me, keep my commandments. I will ask from my father so that he will give the comforter that he may abide with you forever.”
1. Book of John 14:29
“I am informing you about “Farqeleet” (comforter) before it came to pass so that when it comes to pass, ye might believe.”
1. Book of John 16: 7
“It is expedient that I leave because unless I do not leave, the Comforter will not come to you.”
The above are a group of predictions present in the New Testament about which we Muslims believe that it refers to Prophet Mohammad (pbuh). Our belief is confirmed by the Holy Quran in Surah Saff, Verse 6 as follows:
“ And when Isa the son of Maryam said: O the Children of Israel, surely I am the messenger of Allah to you, testifying to what is before you of the Taurah and giving good news of a messenger to come after me, whose name will be Ahmed…”
The Christians today claim that these verses of the Gospel of John refers to the Holy Spirit, although before the advent of Islam and Muslims confronting them with these verses they believed that the ‘Comforter’ is a Prophet after Prophet Jesus(pbuh). The Christian history before the advent of Islam has even witnessed some false claimants of the ‘Comforter’. Secondly, the above verses from the Book of John cannot mean the Holy Spirit for the simple reason that all these talk of coming of the comforter after Prophet Jesus(pbuh), while the Holy spirit was coming even when Prophet Jesus(pbuh) was present.
There is a linguistic discussion here where we Muslims prove that how through a series of translations and retranslations the original ‘Ahmad’ has become ‘Comforter’ (or in some other translations of the Bible-‘Counsellor’). This discussion is outside the scope of the intent of this writeup.
Here the point to be emphasized is that since the Baha’is confirm that The Holy Quran is the unaltered message of God they consequently have to believe that the verses from the Book of John quoted above are verified by the verses of Surah Saff mentioned herein above. Thus they have to believe like Muslims that the ‘Comforter’ refers to Prophet Mohammad(pbuh).
Finality of Prophethood (Khatamiyat) in the aforementioned predictions:
Let’s refer to the Book of John 14: 15-17 again:
“If you love me, keep my commandments. I will ask from my father so that he will give the comforter that he may abide with you forever.”
Since the comforter will abide with the people forever, it’s evident that his message will be valid forever after his coming. There will be no need to amend his message forever and hence no other Prophet will ever come after him.
The Self Contradiction of the Baha’is:
The Baha’is believing in Quran have to accept the Quranic verses which say that mention of Prophet Mohammad(pbuh) is made in the Bible. On referring to the Bible we see that this mention is made along with the Islamic assertion of the Finality of Prophethood. Thus there is no scope for a prophet to come after the ‘Comforter’. The Old as well the New Testaments verify the Quranic belief of the Finality of Prophethood.
All claimants of Prophethood after Prophet Mohammad(pbuh) including Bab and Baha are just cheats robbing their followers of the true faith. The lies of the Baha’i cult are thus further exposed.
