On May 22 in 1984, the Universal House of Justice addressed a letter to the National Spiritual Assembly of Taiwan, advising them to "base your translations on current editions of all the books referred to, if translation is involved. In each instance you should consult the original publisher and obtain a copy of the latest printing or edition to ensure that all approved corrections are embodied in your translation." Many Baha’i books have had significant edits, deletions, and additions since their authors' deaths for various reasons, including failed prophecies.

“Islamic scholars have issued a fatwa [religious announcement] against the Baha’i faith, declaring it to be separate from the religion of Islam and a form of blasphemy. If any Muslim follows the Baha’i faith, he is considered an apostate.

A question was posed to the grand mufti of the Jame Masjid in Delhi, Janab Abdullah Bukhari Sahab about the concept of the advent of another prophet after the Holy Prophet of Islam (pbuh). The question expressly asked his view on the Baha’i Faith and the permissibility of marrying a Baha’i.

The Shaikh of Al Azhar, Mohammad Tantawi, emphasized that the Baha’i group in Egypt to be considered as “outside the folds of Islam and the teachings of the Heavenly religions”. He termed it as a deviant group which should not spread its venom in the Islamic societies.

Islam is a religion that abrogates all previous religions, and it is the seal of religions as God says: “Whoso desired any other religion than Islam, that religion shall never be accepted from him, and in the next world he shall be among the lost”

(Ref: Chapter of Ale Imran, verse 85)

The respected Hujjatul Islam, Abdul Kareen Qausari, who hails from Najaf, Iraq has the following view on The Baha’i Faith. The Persian text of this fatwa is sourced from:

Dr. Sheikh Abdolmon’en al-Nahr, a renowned Muslim personality comments on the apostasy and excommunication of the Baha’is as follows:

“…We know that the Baha’is were formerly Muslims but they later abandoned Islam and founded a new creed in order to harm the religion. Therefore, from the very beginning of the advent of this pseudo-religion, religious rulings have been issued against them, either they were Muslims and were converted to Baha’ism, or were born of Baha’i parents. There is a unanimity of views among Muftis in this conneciton…”
