According to this principle and the aforementioned statements from `Abdu’l-Bahā, if a religion causes enmity and hatred, its non-existence is better than its existence. Thus, it logically follows that if Bābism and Baha’ism caused enmity and hatred, they are subject to `Abdu’l-Bahā’s decree and their non-existence is preferred over their existence.

I have given permission to every soul to carry one thousand lines [from my books] with them so that they may have great pleasure!

Do not make more than 95 doors for the Point’s (the Bāb’s) house!

The Bāb and his book, Bayān hold a special importance for Baha’i’s. This is what Bahā’u’llāh says, about the book of Bayan:

Refer to it, for a letter from it will suffice the entirety of the people of the earth. And surely God has stated all things in the evident book.

Before we start this section we must point out that when `Abdu’l-Bahā was asked if he knew everything, he had answered:

No, I do not know everything. But when I need to know something, it is pictured before me.

When Baha'is preach their beliefs, the audience are lectured about the “Oneness of Humanity” and are told that Baha'is treat people of all faiths with respect and courtesy. Unfortunately, when one delves into Baha’i scripture, many instances are seen where the founders of Baha’ism in no manner respected the followers of other religions.

Courtesy and politeness are moral and ethical values that all true Prophets and messengers of God advocate and abide too. Baha’is claim that their leader Baha’u’llah, has put a great emphasis on this topic and cite quotes from him such as:

“O people of God! I admonish you to observe courtesy, for above all else it is the prince of virtues. Well is it with him who is illumined with the light of courtesy and is attired with the vesture of uprightness. Whoso is endued with courtesy hath indeed attained a sublime station.” (Baha’u’llah, Tablets of Baha’u’llah Revealed After the Kitab-i-Aqdas, p. 88)

The question is: was Baha’u’llah a courteous man himself and referred to other people with courtesy and politeness?

Over the years, I have had the opportunity to meet and discuss with Muslim scholars about the Baha’i Faith and to benefit from their views about it. At the same time, I have met many people, who harbour doubts about the Faith and its connection with Islam. Are Baha’is Muslims? Is it permissible to marry a Baha’i? What are their beliefs? These are amongst the most common questions raised by ordinary Muslims about the Baha’i Faith.

From among the ‘gems’ spouted by the founders of the Baha’i cult is the idea that if a religion causes enmity and hatred, its non-existence is better than its existence.
