Written by Super UserIt is interesting that Africa is the only place the Faith is really succeeding in light of 'Abdu'l-Baha's extremely disparaging comments about Africa. Even most people who have left the Faith like myself do not seem to really ever comment on the fact 'Abdu'l-Baha's comments are really quite shocking.

During Abdul-Baha’s visit to London in 1911, he had the following interaction with a Christian…
A student of the modern methods of the higher criticism asked Abdul-Baha if he would do well to continue in the church with which he had been associated all his life, and whose language was full of meaning to him. Abdul-Baha answered: “You must not dissociate yourself from it. Know this; the Kingdom of God is not in any Society; some seekers go through many Societies as a traveler goes through many cities till, he reaches his destination. If you belong to a Society already do not forsake your brothers. You can be a Baha’i-Christian, a Baha’i-Freemason, a Baha’i-Jew, and a Baha’i-Muḥammadán. The number nine contains eight, and seven, and all the other numbers, and does not deny any of them. Do not distress or deny anyone by saying ‘He is not a Baha’i!”

After four weeks a typed copy of the Will was received in America, undated and unsigned. As Mrs. White studied this document, she eventually came to realize that it contained laws which, in her opinion, would change completely the Baha’i teaching. Of these she mentions the following: (1)
In Islam, worship of Prophet Muhammed (PBUH) is one of the gravest sins you can commit. Muslims don’t like being called Muhammeddans’ as they believe that it gives the wrong impression that they worship the Holy Prophet (PBUH). Now (some of the) Baha’is try to imitate this by telling others not to call their religion ‘Baha’ism’ as they say it is same as calling Islam- Muhammedanism. They say that the right word for their religion is ‘Baha’i Faith’. On the look of it everything looks fine. But one has to remember that all that glitters is not gold. Let us look at some of the facts and Baha’i beliefs and decide whether it is the same as in the case of Islam or not.
