Answer: According to the holy Quran Jesus Christ (P.H.) is alive, first. Second, he will surely come to be the companion of Imam of the time (May Allah hasten his reappearance) – but not as a new prophet.

     One of the proselytizing Baha’i networks claimed: “Shiites say Jesus Christ will appear after the Excellency Mahdi’s (P.H.) emergence while they had said before that revelation has been interjected by the emergence of the holy prophet (P.H.)! [The telegram network of Baha’ism]. To answer this doubt we will mention the following notes:

1)   The holy Quran who is considered as a right and heavenly book declares that the Jesus Christ (P.H.) is alive:

وَ قَوْلِهِم اِنّا قَتَلْنا المَسیحَ عِیسی ابْنَ مَرْیَمَ رَسُولَ اللهِ وَ ما قَتَلُوهُ وَ ما صَلَبوُهُ وَ لکِن شُبَّهَ لَهُمْ وَ اِنَّ الَّذینَ اخْتَلَفُوا فیهِ لَفِی شَکٍّ مِنْهُ ما لَهُمْ بِهِ مِنْ عِلْم الاّ اتِّباعَ الظَّنَّ وَ ما قَتَلوُهُ یَقیناً

     And because of their saying: We slew the Messiah Jesus son of Mary, Allah’s messenger They slew him not nor crucified, but it appeared so unto them; and lo! Those who disagree concerning it are in doubt thereof; they have no knowledge thereof save pursuit of a conjecture; they slew him not for certain, [Nisa, 157]

2)   According to Shiite and Sunni traditions, the Jesus Christ (P.H.) will be emerged as the companion of the Excellency Mahdi (P.H.). He will pray after him and help…[1]

     Consequently, Shiites believe that the Excellency Jesus (P.H.) will be emerged as the companion of Imam Mahdi (P.H.) not as a prophet who will abolish the religion of Islam.
