Bahaismiran:

Concerning the word Khatam in verse 40, Al-Ahzab surah, Baha’is believe that Khatam means seal, decker or the testifier of the previous prophets not the last one. While the word Khatam means finisher and the Baha’I leaders confess the holy prophet (P.H.) is the last divine prophet.

According to the holy Quran, Muslims consider the holy prophet of Islam is the last divine prophet. As it is stated in the holy Quran:

“Muhammad (P.H.) is not the father of any your men, but he is the Messenger of Allah and the seal of the Prophets and Allah is Aware of all things.” [Al-Ahzab, verse 40]

However, such verses and clear reasons have intrigued Baha’is to deviate such verses. As the Baha’i proselytizers claim that Khatam means the one who approves the previous divine prophets and the decorator not the last prophet.[1]

     Answer:

1)   According to the Baha’i made prophet’s order, Baha’is must resort to the meaning of the word regarding the religious texts.[2] So, the word Khatam or Khatam means the end of everything and what is ended by it.[3] Consequently خاتم النبیین means the last prophet and a prophet who ends prophethood, according to all interpreters and word scientists.[4]

2)   Translating خاتم النبیین into decorator or a person who approves the prophets is using word in unreal meaning

3)   The holy Quran has used the word مصدق for a person who approves prophets; for instance:

And when Jesus son of Mary said: O children of Israel! Lo! I am the messenger of Allah unto you, confirming that which was (revealed) before me in Totah… [Al-Saff/6][5]

4)   The issue of finality of the holy prophet (P.H.) is of clear and obvious that the Baha’i leaders have now and then confessed it. As the made prophet of Baha’is has said:

Salutations be upon the Lord of mankind… He (Muhammad), through whom messengership (Ris alat) and prophethood (Nobuwwat) have been completed.[6]

The Baha’i proselytizers confess in this regard; although they are trying to reject finality of the holy prophet (P.H.): The famous proselytizer of the cult, Mr. Qaeni has said: “We Baha’is… consider the Excellency messenger Muhammad ibn Abdullah (P.H.) is the nous and the final messenger.[7]
