The issue of the repentance letter’s being lost hasn’t been confirmed yet. However, based on the following documents, Ali Muhammad Shirazi’s repentance adventure has been continually specified and declared in the Baha’i texts:
1) According to Nabil Zarandi’s history, after Ali Muhammad Bab claimed for being the deputy of the Excellency Mahdi (P.H.), he was slapped by Fars city ruler[1]and rejected all of his claims. He announced his repentance in Vakil mosque in Shiraz city[2]. It is interesting to be known that Ali Muhammad Shirazi’s (Bab) repentance made some of his followers to turn against him[3].
2) Fazel Mazandarani, one of the famous proselytizers of Baha’ism has clearly mentioned Bab’s repentance letter in the form of a communique[4]. The outstanding notes of the Excellency Bab’s communique are as follows: a) He specified that it is impossible for the religion of Islam to be abolished, b) Confessing the existence of the Excellency Muhammad Ibn Al-Hassan Al-Askari (peace be upon him), c) the existence of four deputies for him during the Minor occultation.
3) Abul Fadhl Golpaygani (one of the prominent Baha’ism proselytizers) has mentioned the explanation of the Excellency Bab’s repentance letter in his book called Kashful Qeta. He has considered the repentance letter as his logical punishment.[5]
