However, what do these commandments mean? What is its mechanism?

     The commandment of boycotting in Baha’ism mean firing and removing those who disobey the orders of the leaders of the cult or oppose them. In the punishment of spiritual boycotting, the Baha’i person is considered as the one who is afflicted by an infectious disease. Even his/her family isn’t allowed to visit him/her.[1] However, this faith has established its base on the independent investigation of truth; but it punishes its followers with a means worse than death?!

     Thus, according to Shoqi Effendi: “You had asked about those Baha’is who had turned against the Baha’i faith due to ignorance to be allowed to be invited to the general assemblies or not? I answer: Their invitations aren’t allowed and those who have excommunicate spiritually can’t be chatted at all.[2]”

     However, those who have turned against Baha’ism must be boycotted while Abdul Baha has considered isolation worse than death: “Consider the world, affection causes existence and isolation causes death[3].” However, how is it feasible for a faith which claim for the independent investigation of truth[4] while it issues the commandment of a punishment which is worse than death?!
