Bahaismiran:

Excommunication means expelling and banishing.

There are two Kinds of excommunications in Baha’ism:

1)   Administrative excommunication: It is exerted on a Baha’i person who is acting against the Baha’i teachings and commandments and isn’t obeying the Baha’i orders and the spiritual assembly ideas and isn’t paying attention to the national and local spiritual assemblies’ remindings and prognoses and isn’t going to compensate his/ her previous bygone acts. For instance: hiding belief, polygamy, not regulating.

Baha’i marriage and divorce regulations, quitting nourishing, drinking wine, not obeying the holy assembly orders, ideas and decisions, interference with political issues. Such a person is being excommunicated from the Baha’i administrative and social rights such as participating at elections, being the member of spiritual assemblies, attending in receptions.

2)   Spiritual excommunication: If a Baha’i person turns away the orders and prohibitions of Baha’i centers and authorities, he/ she will be excommunicated spiritually.

Unfortunately, the Baha’i faith considers itself as the universal religion and addresses the unity of humane world and proselytizes the unity and oneness of religions while it excommunicates its opponents!

Excommunication is really a painful and harmful punishment. The recent studies have shown that being excommunicated affects on heartbeat. The medical science researchers announced that excommunicating of human being by other people breaks the person’s heart and causes heartbeat to be stopped for a short time. According French correspondence, the researchers of Amesterdam and Leiden universities of Netherland found out in a measure to figure out the effects of pains and social grieves on human being bodies that being excommunicated in the society decreases people’s heartbeats for some moments. Investigating 27 healthy 18- 25 of age students, the researchers asked them to send their photos for another group to investigate the photos emotionally. Investigating the electrocardiogram of the subjects and investigating 120 sent photos, the researchers studied the feedbacks of others’ ideas about people’s photos on them. Findings of these researchers showed that breaking people’s hearts is existent physically and being excommunicated causes heartbeat to be decreased.

Why is such painful punishment existent in Baha’ism?! Indeed, why are Baha’is excommunicating their opponents?!
