In this part, we are going to investigate whether the Imam of the Time will abolish the religion of Islam or not?

The following traditions must be considered:

1)   Abu Ja’far stated:

" إِنَّ القَائِم يملك ثَلاَثَمائَة وَ تسع سِنِين كما لبث أهل اْلكهْف في كهفهم يملَأُ اَلأرْض عدلاً وَ قسطاً كما ملئَت ظلماً و جوراً وَ يفتح اللَّه له شرق الْأرض و غربها و يقتل النَّاس حتى لا يبقَى إلاَّ دين محمَّد(ص) يسير بسيرة سليمان بن داود" (بحار الانوار/ ج 52/ باب یوم خروجه و ما یحدث عنه- ص 291)

Narrated by Abu Jaroud said: The Excellency Imam Baqer (P.H.) stated: Surely, Imam of the Time (P.H.) governs for 309 years as the disciples of Cave did stay in the Cave. He will fill the earth by justice as filled with tyranny. God opens the earth’s east and west for him. He will kill people for the faith of Muhammad (P.H.) to survive. His method resembles Solomon ibn David’s one. (Beharul Anwar- vol. 52- chapter of the day when he exits and what happens for him – p. 291)

2)   Muhammad ibn Moslem stated:

"سالت ابا جعفر (ع) عن القائِم از اقام بأی سیرة یسیر فی الناس؟ فقال: بسیرة ماسار به رسول الله (ص) حتی یظهر الاسلام قلت: و ما کانت سیرة رسول الله (ص)؟ قال: ابطن ما کان فی الجاهلیة، وَ استقبل بالعدل و کذلک القائم (ع) از اقام یبطل ما کان فی الهونة مما کان فی ایدی الناس و یستقبل بهم العدل."

(بحار الانوار- ج 52/ باب سیره و اخلاقه و خصائص زمانه- ص 381)

The tradition is from Muhammad ibn Moslem who says: I asked Abu Ja’far (P.H.): How will Imam of the Time (P.H.) behave when he rises? He stated: His character sketch resembles the messenger of God’s (P.H.) one in order to make Islam dominant and apparent. I said: what was the messenger of God’s (P.H.) character sketch. He said: He destroyed what existed in ignorance period of time and encountered people with justice. Also, Imam of the Time (P.H.) destroys non- divine government and encounter people with justice when he rises. (Beharul Anwar- vol. 52- chapter of his character sketch and morality and the characteristics of his period of time- p. 381)

It has been stated in another tradition:

"... و ان الثانی عشر من ولدی یغیب حتی لا یری، و یاتی علی امتی زمن لا یبقی من الاسلام الا اسمه و لا من القرآن الا رسمه، فحینئذ یأذن الله له بالخروج فیظهر الاسلام و یجدو الدین..." (بحار الانوار- ج 36- الباب 41- صفحات 5- 284)

“A time will be approached for my nation which will remain nothing from Islam and nothing from the holy Quran but lines. At this time, Imam Mahdi (P.H.) will be allowed to be reappeared. He will revitalize Islam.” (Beharul Anwar- vol. 36- chapter 41- pp. 284- 285)

Consequently, the above-mentioned traditions clarify that Imam of the Time (P.H.) won’t bring a new religion when reappears and he will continue the way of the holy prophet as the final prophet.
