On February, 1934 A.D., Shoqi issued a statement in which he considered it necessary for the Baha’is to obey the Nazi government and its policies.

Shoqi Effendi wrote: “Nothing is against the spirit of the Baha’i faith except for the clear riot against the governmental officials of a country; particularly when they don’t meddle and disagree with the personal and holy beliefs of people. There are some reasons to believe that the current regime of Germany (Nazis) which has prevented humiliating personal conscience so far will never be violated in near future unless unprecedented changes happens.[1]”

Backing Nazi government and admiring its functions, Shoqi mentions it necessary to obey Nazi leaders for the Baha’is. Mentioning that he has studied the electional lecture of Hitler, Shoqi writes: “It is necessary for a Baha’i person to obey the rules and orders of this government.[2]”

However, it is interesting to be known that exactly before writing the letter, some questionable events happened in Germany which informed about dark and horrible future:

1)   Due to Reichstag wildfire on February, 27, 1933, Hitler could pass a law in parliament on March, 1933 which gave the Chansellor; that is Hitler, authorities to reform the German Constitution during four years. He could make all German parties except for National socialist German worker’s party (NSDAP) that is Nazi party illegal and forbidden and make Germany mono-party.

2)   Persecution against the Jewish, communists, the liberals and Protestan Churches which were against Nazi party positions started but they hadn’t soared.

3)   A year had been passed since the economic sanctions by the American Jewish people.

4)   Paramilitary of Nazi party that is SA headed by Ernst Röhm, Hitler’s assistant was present in all streets of Germany across the country. He was confronting aggressively against Hitler and Nazi’s opponents.

Consequently, how can the Baha’ism organization introduce itself as peaceful[3] while it considers obeying racists and warmongers as necessary?! Isn’t obeying Nazi government considered as confirming Baha’is contribution in Hitler’s warmongerings?! How can Baha’ism speak about the oneness of humankind[4] while it accepts the racist regime of Germany?! How could Shoqi Effendi admire Jewish in the occupied Palestine[5] while he supported the agent of Jewish Holocaust (althought it is false) in Nazi Germany by his silence?![6]
