Bahaismiran:
1) Concerning the equality between men and women rights:
It is written on page 265 of the book “Bahaullah and the new era compiled by J. E. Esselment:
“The Excellency Bahaullah announced the equality between men and women concerning responsibilities, rights and privileges.”
Contradictions:
A) Concerning Hajj for men (which is considered as a legitimate responsibility) is stated on page 28 of the Aqdas:
"قد حکم الله لمن استطاع منکم حج البیت دون النساء عفا الله عنهنّ رحمة من عنده انه لهو المعطی الوهّاب"
Also, it has been stated on page 68 of the book “the treasury of limitations and commandments “compiled by Ishraq Khawari”:
“Hajj which is necessary for men means visiting the greatest house in Baqdad city and the house of Noqteh in Shiraz city as pilgrim. The people of every city who are near to these cities can select the city for pilgrimage.”
According to the above-mentioned matrials, Bahaullah hasn’t necessitate Hajj as one of the legitimate responsibilities of women; so the Baha’is claim for the equality between men and women’s responsibilities, rights and privilege is being rejected.
B) There are three organizations in the Baha’i community:
1) The local organization: It is also called the local spiritual assembly. When the number of the over 21 years of age Baha’is is 9 people (men/ women), 9 members are being elected in the form of free election on Ordibehest, 1 each year.
2) National organization: The elected Baha’i people from the local assemblies are sent to the capital city out of which 9 people are being elected for an assembly which is called the national spiritual assembly.
3) The international organization: The members of the national assemblies across the world get together every five years in the Baha’ism universal center in Heyfa city, Israel and elect 9 people to form the greatest universal house of justice. This house is infallible and is considered as the supreme position for the Baha’ism leadership. It is assumed as the Baha’ism legislative power. It is interesting to be noted that despite the slogan of the equality between men and women, the women’s membership is forbidden in the universal house of justice.
In this regard, Bahaullah states on page 49 of the Aqdas:
"و نوصی رجاله بالعدل الخالص"
So, Baha’is claim for the equality between men and women concerning right and privileges stated by Bahaullah is being rejected because women aren’t allowed to be the member of the universal house of justice.
C) Concerning public and compulsory education:
One of the notes of the third principle is the priority of girls’ education to boys. (Faramarz Ashraf – A collection of the Baha’i materials in brief – the national institute of the faith press- 131 Badi’a)
According to above-mentioned document, girls and boys educations are being differentiated. So, the equality between men and women is being rejected.
2) Concerning the independent investigation of truth:
It is said on page 144, vol. 2, of the book “Sermons” by Abdul Baha (the third leader of the Baha’is):
“The first teaching of Bahaullah is the independent investigation of truth. Human being must investigation of truth. Human being must investigate the truth and quit imitating.”
It is written on page 15 of the book “Bahaullah and the new era compiled by J. E. Esselment:
“The Excellency Bahaullah hasn’t charged anybody to accept his statements and works blindly; but his first teaching was not accepting an issue without investigation. He ordered everybody to open his/ her eyes and ears and investigate the truth freely and fearlessly.”
Contradictions:
A) Mirza Hussein Ali Nouri narrated from Mirza Ali Muhammad Bab Shirazi:
“The greatest enjoyment is that a person listens to verses and understands their concepts and doesn’t compare them with others’. “(Bahaullah –Badi’a – page 145)
B) Bahaullah states on page 192 of the book Iqan (199- page Iqan):
“I request Bayan scholars and juris-consults not to follow this gait… and don’t resort wisdoms, perception and science.”
According to the above-mentioned materials, Bahaullah has invited people to investigate the truth independently and; on the other side, he rejected the independent investigation of truth. This is a contradiction.
3) Preventing men from shaving their heads and not cutting their hairs to be long
Bahaullah has said on page 42 of the Aqdas:
"لا تحلفوا رؤوسکم قد زینها الله بالشّعر و فی ذلک لایات لمن ینظر الی مقتضیات الطبیعة من لدن مالک البریة انه لهو العزیز الحکیم و لا ینبغی ان یتجاوز عن حد الاذان هذا ما حکم به مولی العالمین"
Contradiction:
One page 49 of the book “Bahaullah and the new era compiled by J. E. Esselment narrated by Edward Brown (the orientalist who has visited Bahaullah in Bahji in 1890):
“That penetrating eyes were investigating the depth of spirit and soul, as if. Power and majesty were observable in his forehead. His deep wrinkles of his face and forehead indicated his old age; but his black and long beard and hair scattered showed the opposite.”
According to Edward Brown’s statements, Bahaullah’s hair was long -waisted
4) Concerning the oneness of humane world:
In the book Bahaullah and the new era on page 12, compiled by J. E. Esselment, it is written:
“The independent investigation of truth, the oneness of humane world, unity of religions, alliance of tribes, unity of the east and west, agreement between religion and science, removal of bigotries and superstitions, the equality of men and women’s rights, establishment of justice and right, founding court, unity of language, compulsory expansion of education and many other principles are of the teachings been sent by the Excellency Bahaullah in the current half of 19th century in the form of numorous books and tablets some of which addressing the world kings and rulers.”
Contradictions:
A) On page 52 of Question & Answer epistle it is written:
- The inheritance of the teacher had been asked again.
Answer: If the teacher isn’t Baha’i, he/ she won’t inherit.
B) Concerning marriage portion:
One page 60 of the Bahaullah’s book “the Aqdas” it is stated:
"لا یحقق المهار الا با لا مهار قد قدر للمون تسعة مثقالاً من الذّهب الابریز و للقری من الفضّة و من اراد الزیادة حرّم علیه ان یتجاوز عن خمسه و تسعین مثقالاً کذلک کان الامر بالعز مسطوراً."
On page 170 of the book Aqdas, it is written:
“The marriage payment must be paid to bride by the groom. For citizen, its amount is 19 Methqal of gold and for rural areas it will be 19 methqal of silver.”
According to the above-mentioned documents, the Baha’is claim for the oneness of humane world is being rejected because Bahaullah discriminated among Baha’is and non- Baha’is and between citizen and rural people.
