Although the Baha'is have accepted Imamate in Islam and believed in the introduction of twelve imams by the religion of Islam[1], they have ben deviated about the twelfth Imam. They believe Imam Hassan Askari (P.H.) didn’t possess any offspring.
Abul Fadhl Golpaygani, the great proselytizer of Baha'ism says in this regard: "If a well-informed person refers to the traditions of the birthday of the Excellency Muhammad Ibn Al-Hassan (P.H.) which are the bases of the religion of Shiite, he/she will observe that the Shiites have confined the tradition of an unknown woman in such an important issue.[2]
However, the following is the criticism of this doubt:
"Sharit Anas Katbi Hosna, one of the Sunni scholars says: "imam Mahdi was hidden out of people's sights in childhood. This issue is certain for Shiites and Sunnis. The history books have proven this issue that Mahdi (P.H.) entered into Sardab in childhood; while he had no generation.[3]"
Fakhr Razi Shafee says: "The texts written by most historians and translators agree in company with the birthday of Hojjat ibn Abi Qasem Muhammad ibn Hassan Askari (P.H.). He was the offspring of Narjes and was born in 252 or 255 or 259 A.H.; although he was born at night of 15th of Sha'ban 255.[4]
Even, Abdul Wahhab Sha'rani Hanafi writes:
"In Apocalypse, it is hopeful for Mahdi to be exited. He is of the offspring of Imam Hassan Askari (P.H.). He was born in 15th of Sha'ban, 255 A.H. in order to be get together with the Jesus Christ…[5]"
Consequently, not only the Shiites; but also Sunni scientists, historians and tradition narrators believe in the existence of Excellency Mahdi (P.H.). According to the Baha'i leader, the traditions related to the existence and birthday of Excellency Mahdi have been narrated so much.[6]
