Baha’is consider “Tahereh” as the pattern and symbol of bravery. Shoqi Effendi (the third leader of Baha’is) assumes her as a young leader from an outstanding family and as a pretty, eloquent woman possessing an invulnerable spirit and brave behaviors (The Excellency Bab, Muhammad Husseini, p. 615)

The universal house of justice writes in its message dated June, 20, 2008: “Tahirih, that peerless heroine of Iranian history, courageously advocated the emancipation of women were only beginning to gather momentum in a few parts of the world… .”

     Tahirih was executed in 1268.

However, the question is that: Could Tahirih be accepted as the member of the Universal House of Justice if she were living in our era???

Answer: No, because Tahirih is a woman.

Baha’is have prevented women to be included in 9-member panel of the Universal House of Justice and just men are allowed to take the position. It is interesting to be noted that Baha’is are shouting the slogan of the equality of men and women.

O’ Tahirih, although you are brave, to Baha’is; but they don’t consider any position for you in the UHJ.
