The super lies and deceit of Bab
Mirza Ali Mohammed Shirazi, the Bab
Mirza Ali Mohammed Shirazi, or the Bab, as he is famously known as, is a very important Baha’i figure. Recognized by the Baha’is as Bahaullah’s predecessor, he is that important person on whom the entire edifice of the faith rests.
It is the system of God that the previous Prophet prophesizes the coming of a new Prophet. Muslims are unanimous that Prophethood and Messengership ended with Prophet Mohammed (pbuh) and no Prophet or Messenger would follow him. Thus, in the Holy Quran and Prophetic traditions there is only mention of finality of Prophethood and not even a remote mention of any Prophet or Messenger to follow.
About 1,300 years after the advent of Islam, Bab claimed this divine position, albeit mixed with other claims of being the Bab (Gate) to the Twelfth Imam, the Twelfth Imam, a Prophet/Messenger and even God Himself. Irrespective of his claims, the Baha’is say that Bab abrogated Islam and foretold the coming of Bahaullah. And it is only on this premise that Bab is a Prophet/Messenger that Bahaullah’s claim rests. Thus, before accepting the position of Bahaullah it would only be reasonable to evaluate Bab’s veracity. For, if there is no Bab then there is no Baha’i.
In order to understand Bab better herewith are excerpts of a debate between Bab and the crown prince of Iran Nasiruddin Mirza and his tutor Haji Mulla Mahmud. This has been recorded in the Baha’i book -- Traveller’s Narrative -- from page no 278 to 290.
In this intriguing discussion, Bab pronounces his claim of being the Bab and the centre of knowledge. However, he did not have answers to basic questions on worldly sciences or divine teachings or even Arabic grammar. When he was asked to substantiate his claim with a miracle (which has been the system of the past Prophets) he did not have any.
In short, this is a must read for anyone who wants to have a feel about the Baha’i Faith and its foundation.
