The Truth behind The Baha’i Truth
Dr. Mohammed Alam Qurayshi
Man by nature seeks the truth in whatever he does. God the Almighty has ingrained certain traits such as justice, the desire for truth and dislike for lies and deception in each one of us. Along with these he granted us the facility for intellect which guides us in our lives and helps us to differentiate between right and wrong. These deep-rooted characteristics have a profound impact on our lives. It is through these facilities that we are able to recognize truth and falsehood in whatever we do and in whatever we believe.
The objective behind The Baha’i Truth is to draw upon these very facilities and understand in simple terms the reality of the Baha’i Faith. I have had the opportunity over the years to interact with a fair number of Baha’is and also to read some of their literature. My information on the Baha’i Faith through these interactions and also through their books led me to believe that most Baha’is are ignorant of their history and culture. More importantly this ignorance stems from the propagators of the Faith itself who, over a period of time, distorted elements of history and even their own literature.
How many Baha’is would be aware that the Faith has a violent and bloody history? Or that Bab, the alleged originator of the Faith was mentally deranged and bloodthirsty individual. Or that Bahaullah actually claimed to be God himself? This deception of the Baha’is is not limited to history alone. Even today, we have Baha’is in various capacities trying to influence individuals under the garb of universal peace and unity while the actions of their own leaders were completely contrary to their teachings.
The Baha’i Truth is a simple exercise to bring out relatively unknown elements of the Faith to both, the followers of the Faith and those who are influenced by it. I have made an attempt to be as objective as possible in my studies and have backed every comment with references. My site is an invitation towards truth and righteousness. It is a proclamation towards light from darkness. I welcome any comments, whether positive or critical to help me improve the web site in any manner.
Sure, most Baha’is will not like what they see and read on the web site. To them, I have one advice - please read this in the light of the facilities of truth and justice that God endowed us with. I am a firm believer of the principle that the true courage of man lies in accepting the truth however bitter it may be and to follow it relentlessly.
I am open to any kind of debate or discussion with the Baha’is. I request the Baha’is to refer to the references I have mentioned in my articles. If there is any issue with these references, I would most willingly make the necessary changes. I repeat, I have used only authentic Baha’i sources, not Muslim sources. From my experience I have seen Baha’is generally do not have access to their original scriptures in Persian and Arabic. Most Baha’is have never seen the original \'Iqan\' and \'Aqdas\' or even the \'Bayan.\' Their knowledge of their Faith stems from translated versions of these books, most of which have been edited or rather censored. I, on the other hand, have quoted purely from these original scriptures that are available with me. I have used the translations only for cross-references.
My message to the Muslim world is that we all must realize the danger that the Baha’i Faith holds for the community at large. The Baha’i Faith claims to be the next divine religion after Islam and projects Bahaullah as the new prophet after the beloved Holy Prophet of Islam (p.b.u.h). They seek to destroy Islam by reducing the position of the Holy Prophet (p.b.u.h) and wish to create discord amongst Muslims.
One must be aware of these and constantly remember that one who denies the finality of the prophet hood of the Holy Prophet (p.b.u.h) has denied Islam, the Holy Quran and Allah Himself. We must strengthen our faith to counter the subtle attacks on Islam by the Bahais. Lastly one must remember that whatever happens in this world, at the end of it all, Allah has appointed a day of Judgment wherein we will be responsible for our actions - a day when we will meet the Holy Prophet (p.b.u.h) and will be questioned about our loyalties to him. I seek the help of Allah that Inshallah, we meet the Prophet (p.b.u.h) in a manner that he is pleased with us and we will be with him.
