Bab becomes the prophet!!!

Because of tightness, pressure, autocracy, the grave economic spiritual and political situation during Qajar dynasty and mortality due to the communicable diseases made the people eager the emergence of the promised Imam (P.H.) who is the final aim of all religion. Ali Muhammad Bab claimed for being Mahdi after being the gate. After a short while claimed for the emergence a new religion called “Bayan” or the deviant creed of Babism encouraging by foreign elements with the help of religion making companies of England and Russia.

Generally Babis consider the night of Friday, 5th of Jamdiul Ula 1260 A.H. 32rd of May 1844 (when Bab called himself as the successor of Seyyed Kazem Rashti) as the night of the appointment of prophet or “Noqteh Ula. And assume it as their era (Badi’a) Mirza Hussein Ali Nouri (Bahaullah) has announced this day as one of the important feasts of Baha’is and prohibited working and trading at this specially day.

Ali Muhammad Bab wrote a book called “Bayan” in 1263 A.H. to prove his baseless and vain claim of prophethood in which the religious educational principles have been stated. Bab thought that the human societies are continually advancing and the leaders of these communities are changed according to expedients of the time.

Therefore, the new book exchanged with the old one. According to Bab, the old Testament was offered by Moses and the Jesus Christ offered the Bible to people and the holy prophet Muhammad (P.H.) brought the holy Quran.

Ali Muhammad Shirazi who assumed himself as the new messenger announced the equality of all people specially women in his book “Bayan” that is his new holy book. He stressed that his trainings will be expanded across the world soon. Nevertheless, Bibi religion will be expanded just in five Iranian regions: Azarbayjan, Mazandaran, Central Iran, Fars and Khorasan.

From this period of time on, Bab turns to the king and Shah himself. He desires to visit the king in a message. According to Muhammad Shah Gorgin Khan, Bab was sent from Isfahan to Tehran. Nevertheless, before entering Tehran Bab received the following letter from the king Muhammad by Hajj Mirza Aqasi.

Because, the king is moving from Tehran and can’t visit you decently, go towards Maku city and rest there for a while. When we came back, we would invite you.

As if Bab’s opposition with the clergymen has been in favor of Hajj Mirza Aqasi because he wasn’t in favor of the clergymen. He was afraid of the Muhammad Shah to be influenced by Seyyed Bab. So, he made Bab go to Maku in order not to visit the king. From that time on, the Bab movement entered into a new phase. In order to limit Shiite clergymen’s power, Bab turned to the government and the king himself. His aim was strengthening the government against the clergymen. Fereydoun Adamiyat writes in the book “Amir the great Iran invoking Arthur de Gobineau:

“He wasn’t going to make his message his message political… He called himself as the promised Mahdi and was criticizing the system of government… Seyyed’s method caused the government to comprose him. Just the clergymen felt dangerous and because his enemy (Fereydoun Adamiyat, Amir the great and Iran, Kharazmi Publication, 1361, p. 444)

It is understood from Hajj Mirza Aqasi’s letter which has been written for the clergymen of Isfahan that he wasn’t to kill Bab; but he saved Bab from a danger in Isfahan.

Then the government exiled him from Maku to Chehriq. In this period of time, the Babis became successful in expanding their beliefs across Iran. Mulla Hussein Boshrouyee in Khorasan, Hojjat in Zanjan, Qoratul Ein in other cities, Muhamamd Ali bar Foroush in Mazandarn and Yahya Darabi in Fars tried to achieve this aim. During Bab’s exile to Macco, Badasht event happened.

Badasht is a village between Khorasan and Mazandaran. Babis gathering in Badasht is the climax of sedition of Babis. Tahereh’s unveiling in Badasht is the extreme opposition to the holy religion of Islam.
