In the previous year of the Christian era (20-19); earlier 1398 S.H., the Baha’ism organization released a message and broke its silent concerning the commandment of getting married with whom marriage is prohibited; of course, the message is considered as the answer to the question asked the universal house of justice in 2009.
As it is stated in the message: “The electronic letter dated Oct. 11, 2009 of the dear brother concerning the Baha’i law getting married with relatives has been received by the universal house of justice. It was stated to be answered as follows: The Universal House of Justice has clearly stated that a Baha’i is not allowed to get married with his mother or her father and with his sister and her brother and ancestors or with his sister and her brother and their offspring and with his daughter and her son and their offspring. Also, a Baha’i isn’t allowed to get married with step father, step father, step daughter, step son, bride, groom, mother-in-law and father in law and godchild. In addition to these prohibitions, the Baha’is must be careful not to get married against the traditions and rules of the country in which they reside. Although the universal house of justice has avoided to determine and mention getting married with other people whom marriage is forbidden; but it is important for the dear disciples across the world to pay attention to this clear statement by Abdul Baha: “The more distant, the more agreeable for getting married because the distance of relativity between bride and groom is the means for affection among human kind.[1]”
However, before releasing this message, the commandment of the book “Aqdas” written by the forged prophet of Baha’ism was the permission of getting married with those whom marriage is prohibited which had prohibited the Baha’is to get married just with father’s wife.[2] Nevertheless, the doubt got strengthened when Abdul Baha posed a principle in Baha’ism: “The lack of mentioning in the divine tablets is a kind of permission.[3]”
However, the forged prophet of Baha’ism was under the public pressures, so he referred it to the universal house of justice: “You must refer to the universal house of justice regarding getting married with those whom marriage is prohibited.[4]”
Eventually, the universal house of justice assigned the Baha’is to decide concerning getting married with those whom marriage is prohibited: “Getting married to those whom marriage is prohibited is entrusted on the Baha’is…[5]”
However, the main question is that: why has the forged prophet of Baha’ism and the Baha’ism organization been silent concerning this important issue for 160 years?!
