"وَلاتَرکَنُوا اِلَی الَّذینَ َظَلمُوا فَتَمَسَّکُمُ النّارُ وَ ما لَکُمْ مِنْ دُونِ اللهِ مِنْ اَوْلیاءِ ثُمَّ لا تُنْصَرُونَ" [هود/113]

     “And incline not toward those who do wrong lest the Fire touch you, and ye have no protecting friends against Allah and afterward ye would not be helped.” [Al-Hud/113]

     When Abdul Baha was residing in Palestine and it belonged to the Ottoman government territory, he flattered:

"الهی الهی اسئلک بتاییدائک الغیبیه و توفیقاتک الصمدانیه و فیوضاتک الرحمانیه..."[1]

     “O’ God, O’ God, assist the Ottoman government and the Muhammadan caliphate with your occult assistance and your merciful graces and deploy it on the earth.”

     However, when Palestine was occupied by the English troops, this Baha’i leader’s tone changed and called the government for which he prayed before as tyrant and prayed for England:

"اللهم اِن سُرادق العَدل قد ضَرَبَ اَطنَابَها عَلی هذا الارض المقدّسه فی مَشارق ها و مَغارِبها وَ نَشکُرُکَ و نَحمَدک علی حَوْل هذه السلطنه العادِله..."[2]

     “O’ God, justice tents have strengthened its ropes in the east and the west of the holy land of Palestine. We thank you for this fair, just and powerful government (England) which gives its power generously for people’s welfare and tranquility and security of the earth. O’ God, assist the king of England, George V with your merciful grace and success…”
