The issue started when Javad Abtahi (the Parliament representative) wanted to enroll for the national card and encountered the option “the other” in the section “religion”. So, he mentioned the minister of state and asked for acting the 13th principle of the Iranian Constitution in officiating four divine religions Islam, Judaism, Christianity and Zoroastrian. He considered the existence of the option “the other” as officiating the deviant cults such as Baha’ism.[1]
However, this issue provided the field for the hostile media to misuse and also for the Baha’ism organization to pretend being oppressed and caused for the Baha’ism organization to make internal and universal movements.
The (British) Independent correspondence wrote about officiating the omission of Baha’is in the country and the British medium of BBC spoke about the compulsory lie by the Baha’is for receiving the social services. The worldwide office of the Baha’is in Geneva also claimed: The Baha’is are being punished due to their honesty about their faith. Other Baha’i media assumed this measure as holocaust of the Baha’i community in Iran.
Investigating and criticizing this movement making by the Baha’ism organization, we are mentioning the following notes:
1) Using the trick of pretending to be oppressed is one of the devices of the Baha’ism cult for proselytizing itself. Consequently, a person who provides the field for applying this trick in the domestic and international atmosphere has been acted in favor of the Baha’ism movement whether he/she likes or not.
2) Nevertheless, if the existence of the option “the other” in the section of “religion” (for receiving the national card) is considered to be contrary to the principle 13 of the Constitution by the experts[2], the people in charge mustn’t be influenced by the internal and external pressures and must insist on obeying the principle of the Constitution.
3) As Seyfullah Abu Torabi, the spokesman of the registration organization of Iran stated: restricting the option of religion in four divine ones which are official ones in the country can’t prevent others in the Islamic Republic of Iran to receive the national card in order for the hostile media to interpret it as holocaust[3]; but the Baha’is can obey belief based on the community and law’s will in order not to be encountered with the less restriction.[4]
4) It is interesting to be noted that the countries which have pressured on Iran for this issue have prevented or restricted the presence of some nationalities in their countries!
