After Saeedul Olama Mazandarani arrived at Babol, he announced people to be present at mosque… He went on pulpit and said: O’ people, be awake. Our enemies are lurking. They are going to destroy Islam and to vanish the Islamic sacred things.
Late 1264, Ali Muhammad Bab started claiming for being Mahdi. Then, he wrote a book called the Bayan to excommunicate the Islamic religious laws and called himself as prophet. Eventually; in his last writing called Heykalluddin tablet he claimed for divinity.[1]
However, due to the relationship between Babis and him in Chehriq his claims were heard less by his disciples because if they heard soon, wars would undoubtedly finish sooner and Mirza Ali Muhammad wouldn’t be killed, too. When the civil wars heightened, the then government headed by Mirza Taqi Khan Amir the Great decided to eradicate him.[2]
Ali Muhammad Bab along with one of his disciples was executed in Tabriz city dated 28th of Sha’ban 1266 A.H. Saeed Ibn Muhammad[3] known as Saeedul Olama was born in a religious family in Barforoush (Babol). He became busy educating when he grew up. Then, he learned in theological school. He learned the rudiments in the presence of his father and other learned men in Babol city. Then, he traveled to Karbala to continue his education. In that holy place, he participated at Shariful Olama Mazandarani’s class and learned religious jurisprudence band became the source of religious authority.
The great scholar Hajj Agha Bozorg Tehrani says: “Saeedul Olama was one of the dignitaries and of the greatest jurisconsult. He was known among science dignitaries and jurisconsults and was famous as Saeedul Olama Mazandarani Barforoushi (Baboli). He was the classmates of dignitaries such as Mola Agha Darbandi, Seyyed Shafi’a Japoghli and Sheikh Morteza Ansari (The author of Rasael and Makaseb). He was one of the prominent students of Shariful Olama Mazandarani. One of the sign of his majesty in scientific rank was that the greatest master Sheikh Morteza Ansari prevented issuing judgment when he was present. Some people announced this issue to Saeedul Olama and he answered:
“When I was busy studying and discussing in the theological school, he was greater than I; but now I am in Persia and am not succeeded studying and discussing; but Sheikh Ansari is busy studying and discussing seriously; so he is greater and knowledgeable than I…[4]”
He departed in 1270 A.H. when he was 83 in Babol city. His resting place is in Babol city, too.
The most remarkable note in his life is that he left Najaf city to defend Islam and attack the deviant cult of Baism and returned to Babol city. He preferred his duty to achieving the position of the source of religious authority
Nabil Zarandi who is one of the famous Baha’is writes in his history bbook: “Saeedul Olama became aware of Mullah Hussein Boshrouyee and his companions’ arrival at Barforoush (Babol); particularly when Saeedul Olama heard Mullah Hussein coming to Barforoush carrying black flags… Saeedul Olama entered into Babol city and announced people to be present at mosque… He went up pulpit… and said: O’ people, be aware, the enemies have lied in ambush. They are going to destroy Islam and Islamic holy things… Be present tomorrow and be ready to prevent this group.[5]”
Yes, the great source of religious authority came to Mazandaran to prevent the deviant cult of Babism and the Colonialism.
