According to the Islamic teachings, after human being is dead, it is necessary for his/her body to be buried after regulating legitimate customs like ablutions, sheeting saying prayer and etc. After a while this mundane body will be decayed in the grave. However, it will be an exception for some human beings whose bodies will be remained safe and sound and won't be decayed. The holy prophet (P.H.) has stated:
إِنَّ اللَّهَ حَرَّمَ عَلَى الْأَرْضِ أَنْ تَأْكُلَ أَجْسَادَ الْأَنْبِياءِ فَنَبِي اللَّهِ حَتي يرْزَقُ
"Allah has surely considered it illegitimate for the earth to eat the prophets' bodies. So, God's messenger is alive and is being provided with his daily portion."[1]
The commander of the faithful Ali (peace be upon him) has said in Nahjul Balaqeh:
"انه یموت من مات منا و لیس بمیت و یبلی من بلی منا و لیس ببال"
"when one of us, the Household of the prophet is dead, he/she won't be really dead and we won't become rag or decayed."[2]
Concerning the Excellency Roqqaiyeh, it is narrated that her mundane dead body has remained safe and intact and hasn’t been decayed in the grave. She was kept in the Excellency Seyyed Ebrahim's hands for three days in order for her grave to be repaired.[3] Also; regarding Qotbuddin Rawandi, one of the great Shiite scholars whose dead body had remained intact in the grave. This issue was confirmed by Ayatollah Araki, too. This great narrator of tradition was born in 573 A.H. in Qom city and his dead body was buried in the holy Shrine of the Excellency Ma'soumeh (peace be upon her). Eight centuries later, when her holy shrine was being repaired, his dead body was found safe and intact.[4]
Also, nearly one hundred dead bodies of the Excellency Soltan Ali's –Imam Baqer's (P.H.) offspring- disciples who had been martyred in Mashhad Ardehal had been remained intact after one thousand years[5] and the like.
Nevertheless, Sheikism –one of the theological school created the recent two centuries- believes that the prophet's dead body will be decayed in the grave. Muhammad Karim Khan says in the book "Rojoum-al-Shayatin": When a prophet dies, the dead body will be decayed in the grave to be returned to its origin.[6]"
The surprising fact is that Sheikism hasn’t been able to present any proof and evidence or document for its claims.
